To me it seems as if Sony users have more problems than Sharp, Denon and
Kenwood users:

Here is a list of common complaints:

1/ The Sony makes audible mechanical noise, which gets recorded via the mic=
.
2/ You have to pause to set the recording level.
3/ A sometimes scratchy connection between the mic and the Sony.
4/ Some models do not have a switcheable microphone attenuation.

Point 3/ is of special interest to me. As some of you know, I have insisted
to use a possibly questionable mini-plug at the Telinga's, as it is angeled=
.
I hesitate to use straight plugs, -I have seen too many MiniDisc machines
which has got the PC-board socket ripped up completelly, when the mic cable
has hooked onto a branch or something.

But this angeled plug causes problems only with Sony machines!(??)

So I tried my friends Sony R900 (I think it was) and found that out of 9
different types of common 3,5 mm plugs, only 5 was working without noise.
All of them worked just fine with both of my Sharp's. It's a poor test, but
together with the reports I have got from Sony users, it might indicate
something.

Anyway, I am constantly searching for a HQ angeled mini-jack which can be
soldered to the 6 mm cable I use. Suggestions?

Klas.
