You will have to do a little more research at a site such as
www.minidisc.org
to determine the atrac version used and if you care.

The other thing to consider is if there is a high/low mic sensitivity
switch for the preamp. My MZ-R55 has a switch and my MZ-R90 does not.
I find the sensitivity of the 90 to be about in the middle between
the high and low position of the 55. I also do not consider this a
big issue.
