> 2/ You have to pause to set the recording level.
My new-model Sony MZ-R910 works this way: When you start a recording
session, you have to pause, then select "RecVolume" via the scroll wheel,
setting it to "ManualREC". The scroll wheel then acts as a volume control.
After you then un-pause, causing the recording to begin, the scroll wheel
*continues* to act as a manual recording volume level control. You can
pause and un-pause at will, and the scroll wheel still functions as
described.
Unfortunately, once you Stop (as opposed to Pause) a recording session, the
unit reverts back to automatic recording level. So when you initiate the
next session, you must go through the process of using the scroll wheel to
set RecVolume to ManualREC again.
Do the Sharp etc. act better?
