This is probably the same MMC I saw at about 12.20pm today on Adelaide Avenue ½ way between the Kent Street and Hopetoun Circuit offramps, heading towards Civic (less than 2km from Peacock Place).

I had stopped my car to move a dying SFC that had been hit by a car and, as I waited for a break in the traffic, the MMC kept swooping down to the SFC. It was nearly hit a couple of times – a very nerve-wracking scene!  I took the SFC up the escarpment away from the road, watched by about 60 SFC, the MMC and 1 galah that were perched above me in the 2 gummies.  When I returned ½ hour later with my camera, only 1 SFC was still there.

My son rang just this minute to report that a MM Cocky was in the poplars outside our yard (Peacock Place). Holding the phone outside and saying can you hear it ... I replied yep  sure can. Apparently has been heard most of the day and associating with SCCs. Not a new one for this GBS site. Previously reported Oct 2001 perhaps dispelling speculation of escapee from Cotter pub due to jan 2003 fire. A long bow being drawn here though.

cheers
Richard
