Leo and I observed the Newline Black-chinned Honeyeater today (my first
view) - on first sighting it was being pursued by a pair of White-plumed
HEs into a tree to which it escaped and began feeding (the tree was not
in flower). Some 10 minutes later its quiet feeding was rudely
interrupted by another WPHE vectoring in out of nowhere straight to the
Black-chinned and chasing it I think beyond the edge of the
paddock. Maybe this is normal life for a solitary vagrant
Black-chinned HE, or maybe life is getting a bit harder.
