I was quite surprised to find the Indian Ringneck
parrot in the same tree hollow as it was almost 2 years ago (I cant find my
original email but Joe Barr recorded it from Oct 2005).
The spot is:
Entering Dunlop grassland from Champion Pl Fraser.
Follow the fencline N West (inside the reserve) past the big grey house,
and a large 'mound', there are a patch of regrowth gum trees each about 3m tall
max. Just past these regrowth trees is a mature Blakelys Redgum with the fewest
branches (compared to neighbours). There is a hollow in this tree, which the
bird roosts in.
Also saw at least 8 Indian mynas and about 65
starlings flying over West to East. Lots of cockies and a couple of
galahs.
