I have to agree with Ian on this one. I only encounter the Yellow-tufted Honeyeater (YTHE) once a year in my wanderings within the COG Area of Interest.

I think we also need to define the area we are discussing : Canberra, ACT, COGAOI, etc.

I believe this species is 'rare' (for want of another better term) in Canberra. In my experience, this is the first time I have seen this species within Canberra. All my previous sightings have been along either the Murrumbidgee or Molonglo River valleys. And they only total 3 in 6 years.

I also read that the majority of GBS records nearly all come from rural or semi-rural areas such as Sutton Rd or Queanbeyan and not actually within Canberra.
