I have the same problem in changing cars from Nissan to Jeep - with the
control stalks on the steering column on opposite sides. Operate the
light switch and up come the windscreen washers. Why doesn't some idiot
standardise things like this ???

Another thing to consider is which way the focussing wheel turns. When
my Zeiss 8x30s were stolen, in transit to a repairer, the insurance
company replaced them with a pair of Vixen Apex Pro 8x32s. These are
waterproof, rugged and I find them excellent. Only problem was that the
focussing worked the other way around when compared to every other pair
I've used; i.e. to focus closer one moves the wheel clockwise. It has
taken me ages to adjust to this, frequently missing the bird because I
was turning the knob the wrong way. Paul Osborn
