I would be greatly surprised if there weren't already a few ferrets running around wild in Australia. A counter-petition from birdwatchers and ecologists would be a good idea, as there are bound to be more of us than there are of the ferret lovers. Perhaps a quiet letter to the EPA as well if someone knows who to talk to.
