Slightly off topic about birds.....but back in my uni days about 5 years ago I remember a zoology lecturer remarked that there was a local feral ferret population somewhere in the highlands of Victoria. Would anyone have more info about it, if it's true at all? Also arent the ferrets in New Zealand called stoats - a wild/feral type that were deliberatly introduced and not the domestic type you get in Australia? Cheers Marc |
