Don't know if this helps, but I am able to receive and view multicast packets on my 7800, using TS stock kernal.

So, it may be specific to the 7250's kernal.

Thanks, Eric, and yes, I've done all of that, over and over. In fact the software works on Windows running Cygwin regardless of which MultiCast address or UDP port I select, so I know the software is reasonably correct, it's the TS7250 filtering the MultiCast frames at the MAC address level for some reason.

I've got a RAW IP socket open on a sniffer which displays all IP packets seen on the Ethernet LAN. It sees billions and billions of IP frames a minute on the company LAN but does not see the MultiCast frames despite other machines seeing them, so it looks like the TS7250 is filtering at the MAC level.

I've got an email out to TechnoLogics to see if they have an idea. When I telephoned them and explained the issue, the guy told me that I knew more about MultiCasting than he did. }:-} Which is reasonable since most IP work is going to be subnet broadcasting or point-to-point Unicasting.
