the output of <ifconfig -a> under Ubunutu is :

eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:1D:60:XX:XX:XX
            inet addr:192.168.1.66

Look to me that the IP address 192.168.1.66 is the address of the NIC of my Ubuntu computer, and Gateway IP address is not displayed with <ifconfig -a>.
The output of <route> under Ubuntu is :
<<
Destination     Gateway         Genmask         Flags Metric Ref    Use Iface
192.168.1.0     *               255.255.255.0   U     0      0        0 eth0
>>

Look to me the gateway's IP adress is 192.168.1.0

I want to add the route command into script, but I have 2 questions
1) wich text edit should I use with TS-7300 (I feel so stupid asking this question).  gedit is of course not installed on TS-7300.
2) in wich files should I add the route command ?
folder of the TS-7300 is not the same as specified in the user manual (folder /etc/sysconfig doesn't exist on TS-7300).

it's probably 192.168.1.1 but you can verify that on your modem's web
interfacing or on your windows and ubuntu machine. the following
commands should list your current network settings on your other
working boxes, one of the items listed will be your "gateway", which
should be your modem.

windows: ipconfig /all
ubuntu: ifconfig -a
