The TS 7300 only does upto 800x600, out of the box its 640x480 16 bit RGB with
a bitblt assist, Peter Elliot had TS
make a bitstream for it, its availble to everyone.

My application is for in vehicle on the race track, so we're looking at fast
start and on off times, as well as long
periods of offline, the TS-BAT3 solution is more aimed at regular use with
short downtimes or with power available
all the time and just on off, otherwise the batteries discharge so much they go
bad ( which is what i assume to have
happened to mine). So its more i needed something more suitable for my use, so
a DC-DC convertor with shutdown grace
and signalling is better, with the ability to supply 12V for short periods of
down to 7V.

Yep TS-CAN1, I used the Ocera LINCAN drivers at 1Mbps, pretty much worked
straight out of the box, i did not use the
RTAI but i know what you mean about the docs ;)

These docs did work for me, i did have a few problems at first but it was down
to IRQ conflict.
Feel free to ask for any more info on it if you need it, but it was pretty
straightforward.

Standard VGA So long as it can sync to 640x480 or 800x600, i had some timing
issues with the Xenarc 7" i used, but
not with other LCD's, i'm not sure if thats the fault of the Xenarc or if its a
timing issue.

these are some of the other boards i came across, some less suitable than
others.

windows ce based, 7" lcd touchscreen, usb host, sd, ethernet, it interfaces to
their cb220/280 which i've used
before. $499 complete.
windows /linux based, 3-5W, power, 5v supply, 800Mhz geode PC. no screen

mircoclient jr, not great spec, but worth a look $120 base model, no screen.

RLC have some interesting stuff, but they're insanely priced, this was the
original board i looked at before i found
TS.

RM CAN again great stuff, cost is a little high again and they're a bit more
limited on what they do.
