I developed a TS7300 based system with a sunlight readable extended-
temp LCD.  It's mono (actually light, dark and gray) passive 
reflective, though, and QVGA, so I don't know if it would do you any 
good.  A touch screen could be added to it.

The panel was made to go into outdoor irrigation equipment in markets 
from Idaho (think winter) to Australia (think summer).
