Define "don't work"! My experience is entirely contrary. I've got most
things I've wanted to work going on my TS board in lot less time and a lot
less changes than I would have done on other embedded platforms.
I only had to make a couple of changes to get the debian image to work
by NFS root and to get the TS onboard image to work loaded from a CF
disk on the TS7200.

Trying to compare an embedded distro with a modern desktop/server distro
like Ubuntu, Fedora etc is frankly naive in the extreme. There are armies
of developers and people testing it. If you are seriously having problems
getting it to work, and this is important to you, then you have the option
of paying TS to do the work for you.

On this user list we can volunteer to help with technical things, but
we unfortunately cannot help you with unrealistic expectations - both
in terms of product and what people on the list can do to help.
