I'm not objecting to the HDD, I'm saying that I dont' think the stock
TS power supply can supply the current required to run a TS board and a
HDD. The HDD is 500mA and I bet the PS can't supply much more then
that.

Since I do not (yet) have a spare PS lying around, does that sound like
a reasonable HDD ? What other HDD's have people successfully hooked up
