This doesn't make sense as put.
Redboot is a stand alone program that is loaded when the card it booted.
It has nothing to do with Linux. It is used to load a Linux kernel (or
another program, or a BSD kernel etc) into memory and run it. Hence your
comment here is pretty meaningless.
If you can boot the card, then please cut and paste the output of the
boot, so we can see what is happenning. Also cut and paste the output when
it fails to boot.
