Many thanks for your suggestion about disabling flow control, which
has done the trick - I now have a nice RedBoot command prompt awaiting
my instruction :-)
Apologies for wasting group bandwidth; however, in spite of extensive
searching I was not able to uncover this pearl of wisdom. (Is it
documented anywhere?)
