"I'm not very confident about post-synching two or more recorders, in parti=
cular if the goal is building a credible spatial image=94
It=92s certainly an interesting issue. I totally get what you=92re saying, =
yet my experience is that issue of the precision of synch vs post-synching =
scenarios is only one issue and I would argue is potentially a lesser issue=
to those of the placement and configuration of loudspeakers in a space for=
playback, the choice of speakers used, the acoustics of the playback space=
, the volume at which sound is played back in that space, and even the visu=
al appearance of that space - all these things are influential factors in t=
he presentation of sound in a space. What is the playback configuration of =
speakers in the playback space, and how does this relate to the positions o=
f the microphones used to capture sound in a real space? It=92s all artific=
e and as such I=92m an advocate for relying on the ears, certainly I don=92=
t think the whole thing is solved purely by accurate synch at the recording=
stage, though I do think it=92s very helpful!
The Zoom F8 looks like a fantastic solution for the price(!!) I=92m intere=
sted to know how people get on with it
cheers
