Hey Everyone, I am thinking of buying a Mixpre D for a couple reasons, but one con is that there is't an onboard recording function (like the 502 has). I'll use it with an iPad but it would be nice to have a more robust solution. I have seen incredibly complex and expensive solutions for using a different devices as a "bit bucket" for the Mixpre D using the Mixpre's conversion sent through AES. The bit bucket device isn't converting, just writing those numbers to a card. But honestly, and functionally, will this make much of a difference from recording the line level out from the mixpre on a sperate device? I was planning on just running the XLR outs from the Mixpre into the line in on my Sony PCM-m10 which im told bypasses the Sony pre's and is just pure conversion. There would be XLR to 3.5mm adaption, but still. Is the conversion really noticeably superior on the Mixpre as opposed to this solution? Thanks! Jon =E1=90=A7 |
