The wind in the Winter Night

In the evening on December 6 2014 I placed 2 Sennheiser ME-62 mics on a
boom reaching outside the balcon on our flat in Seltjarnarnes, Iceland,
in an AB-setup with 30 mm spacing. They were covered with a fur from Rycote=

At 4:25 in the morning the wind had started blowing from the north-east.
Instead of the deep sound of the ocean som 1 km away the sound of a fan
in a nearby house under construction was overwhelming.

If the listener uses all his/her attention the wind can be heard
whirling some snowflakes around and swans flying to the south in the far
west. All kinds of sounds from the building is also here and there.

Good headphones are strongly recommended.

The recording with explanatory notes in Icelandic and English is here: <>

Best regards,
Arnthor Helgason
