If you just want to try this, you can just leave your recorder running with= out monitoring. It means you can't be sure that what you're getting is ok, = you'll likely end up with more unidentified species in the recording, and t= here's a chance someone will nick your recorder, but otherwise it's far mor= e convenient than running a cable.
