The wind was 2km/h and with two liers of lycra I thing was best.

Jos=E9,

Good stereo image. I hear a lot of directional sounds (sonels or sound
pixels) estimated at least 7 different directions which is good. The
stereo image is narrower than the stereo object - rather like a fish
eye lens. I hear a reverberation or an echo from either a back wall or
roof of the verandah? Remember that the back of the mic rig is live as
well. I also hear a reflection from the right hand side.

What was the thumping noise at about 06:00? It sounded like noise
coming up the tripod. Slight wind noise towards the end around 06:29
onward which would be noticeable with a quiet background. Also try
some fine cloth like thin nylon. Test this my blowing with it across
your lips and you should feel some back pressure. Lycra can be quite
open, so experiment. If you can use a single layer, it's better.

On an audiogram, there is banding at about 170 Hz intervals, more on
the right, which would suggest a path length difference of around 2met
which is probably from a reflection at about 1met away.

The dogs were well placed, and the closer people. You may have to get
fairly close when recording wildlife if you want individual animals or
birds. Try to choose locations with a "dead" back end as the Blumlein
rig is fully sensitive to the rear.

I often suggest trying a mic rig close to the ground. Sometimes this
works well and it is worth a try.
