All,
This is slightly off-topic but in order to listen to wildlife sound
tracks on Soundcloud I need to have a flash player.
And having that flash player, I need a web browser that recognises it
as a plug-in. I've been using the web browser Firefox, and it worked
just fine with Adobe Flash Player.
But then a couple of weeks ago Firefox updated itself automatically
then told me it would not work with OSX 10.4 (which I use) and
demanded 10.5 as a minimum. There is no such thing as an old version
of Firefox. Exit Firefox.
Back to Safari and Opera, updated Safari, updated Adobe Flash
Player. Safari would not recognise it at all, Opera only did sometimes.
Looked at forums, this is a recognised issue, but Camino browser was
recommended.
Downloaded and installed Camino, and as of today, it will play
Soundcloud tracks and seems to recognise Adobe Flash Player v 10.3.1.
I mention all of this in case anyone else is having the same problems.
But it looks like I will soon be forced to upgrade to Mac OSX 10.5 or
Message: 10.
Subject: 6 -- however I am in the middle of another project with my
computer full of sound files and do not wish to upgrade just yet.
Seems if you don't keep up with upgrades, even if your computer is
working perfectly, some functions will be withdrawn by the forces
'out there'.
