I "traded up" from the ME66/K6 to an MKH-41= 6 and ended up wishing I'd kept the ME66. I sold the MKH416 not long after = to fund a Telinga. I found that the MKH416 was a nice mike BUT the lower sensitivity and highe= r self, plus the typical MKH rising HF noise floor made the ME66 a better c= hoice unless you could guarantee you were going to get a strong signal from= the sound source. It was a very nice sounding mic for recording voice howe= ver.
