Hi Mike,
That's a bit complicated. You need a pressure tank full of water that can
be pumped up to 2930 psi... My guess is a dive equipment service shop
might be able to do this for you...
I'm a bit out of touch, Teledyne Benthos, is this the same Benthos on
Edgerton Drive in North Falmouth, MA? If so, there is a good chance they
could either repair or pressure test a hydrophone for you.
Interestingly, I have been in their plant and used their pressure test
facility which is capable of full ocean depth...
Another for what it is worth, the "rubber" you refer to as the outer
coating is a urethane compound... An outfit in Magnolia, Georgia called
Magnolia Plastics used to be the source of urethanes and epoxies made
specifically to match the speed of sound in water for hydrophone
construction. You might be able to get samples to be used in repairing your=
hydrophone.
