Audacity and sonograms...

Howdy All,

Vicki brings up a good point, Audacity does not generate
sonograms. However Audacity does create Spectrograms and has a very
powerful feature in its use of plugins...

My question is, does anyone know of a plugin available for generating
sonograms that would work with Audacity?

For lack of Audacity being able to generate sonograms presently, my
solution is to use Syrinx, a stand alone sonogram generator written by John=

Burt at Univ. of Washington in Seattle. To obtain the Syrinx program, you=

go to www.syrinxpc.com/ and fill out a request form. Almost immediately,
you will receive an e-mail with the link to download the software.

Syrinx is a small program that works very well. It requires sound files in=

WAV format that you can create from clips copied from larger sound files
using Audacity.

I do not know if this is available for the Mac as I use a PC and never
explored beyond my own use...

What other sonogram generation software is out there?

Thanks,
Mitch & Shadow...
