Hi Mitch,
Raven makes better sonograms than does Audacity, and has more choice
of settings.
Sonograph = Sound Spectrograph = sonagram, they are all the same.
If you are interested in analyzing bird song there is an excellent
book written in lay-person's language:
"Bird Song - Biological Themes and Variations", by Catchpole and
Slater. Second edition recently released.
It explains all about sonograms and bird behaviour as related to
their song. Fascinating stuff, and highly recommended.
