Its late at night and I'm going in too many directions at once... Now,
having offered that excuse, what I commented about Raven Lite not loading
files over 1 minute 5 seconds long was incorrect, I suspect when I received
the canned "Warning" about the file length, I simply did not go any further...

I also confused Raven Lite with Raven Viewer, it is Raven Viewer that has
compatibility issues with the version of Quick Time I use on my machine.

Having said all that, I just took another try at Raven Lite and loaded a 2
1/2 minute sound file with no trouble and was able to get a sonogram, both
of the first minute of the file and of selections I high lighted...

Vicki, you are correct, it generates a better sonogram.

However, for all that, I'm spoiled by Syrinx but that may be simply because
I'm used to it...

Thank you for your guidance and help. As usual, your advice is right on...

Thanks,
Mitch & Shadow...
