Fwiw,
Len Moskowitz at Core Sound sells DPA 4060 pairs as his "Core Sound
High End Binaurals (HEBs)."
Though you pay a significant surcharge over the straight DPAs, what
you get is a 9V powering box (mine has a built in hard-switchable low
cut filter), and well-matched capsules.
I had inquired at one point about getting a pair in the DPA peach
color and one of the down sides was that Len didn't have a stock of
them, and hence he couldn't promise as good a match. He said that
there was a surprising variance in the straight 4060s, I seem to
recall as much as 3db off at 1 khz. I'm 99% sure he matches them
across the curve to some degree as well (not just a 1 khz).
My set terminates in 1/8" stereo miniplug for use them a mic-level
input (Plug-In Power not required). I have a breakout cable (got it
from Len, but HOSA makes one as well) that adapts to 2xXLR and have
used this with with my SD722 as well.
