Hi Max--
Yes, it helps to do the test when there is lower activity and to create 10+=
minute "takes" for each set-up so you can select short sections where the =
background "presence" is the lowest and more similar. It is preferable to m=
ake the recordings in a quieter room with all electric gear turned off and =
the windows closed. Some people include a ticking clock about 4-8 feet away=
from the mics but since it is the higher frequency, "hiss" created the noi=
se we'll be comparing, introducing a soft sound is optional.
