Yes, this is the normal behavior of the Sennheiser MKH series
microphones. Their noise performance has obviously been adapted to the
properties of the human hearing system. Their increased noise floor
above 5 kHz matches pretty well the attenuation of the A-weighting
curve at those frequencies.
