I agree... For my purposes the cylinders and cables are too big to wear on =
a hat
(impossible for glasses).

Re self noise and pre-amp noise. From the sound of Neal Ewers podcast which=
 Oryoki
posted, the Edirol R-09HR has less noise than the R-09. To my ears it has a=
 more natural
sound than the Sony D-50.

Would a solution for recorder noise and lack of sensitivity be to add a pre=
-amp/power
supply to the rig and by-pass the recorder's preamp. Is there something lik=
e the  DPA
MMA 6000 which costs less?
