Over-population is the biggest single problem we face as humans. And
we inflict our inability to control the growth of our population on
the natural world.
Unfortunately - and also very, very fortunately - there is no good
and humane and just way to force people to to limit their unchecked
rate of procreation. But the solution is dead simple - it just
depends on individuals to make it happen.
The ideal would be that individual families would take responsibility
for easing the load on the planet by just producing one or two kids -
or choosing to have none - or adopting or fostering a child who's
already here. Individuals can make the most difference here, by being
conscious about the way they and their offspring affect the world.
But most people don't pay attention, sad to say.
That's my two cents.
