I don't think a CF flash card is as fast as a SSD would be, since the SSD is in effect a 'raid' of smaller flash memory, and should be quite a bit faster, shouldn't it? But true, the price is currently prohibitive. But 10 years ago I paid $1400 for my first 4 gig drive, and thought it was a bargain. So it won't take long, a couple of years and that drive will be quite affordable.
