MOTO is good, but it's also worth considering the Sound Devices USBPre:

This device will not only provide a USB input to your Mac, but has very 
high quality analog and ADC circuity as well. It's not cheap, but you 
can't beat the quality. And by adding a good pair of mics you turn your 
Mac into a first class recorder.
