I think all Macintosh G4 models except the G4 Cube
have line level audio input jacks. The jack is
Message: 3.
Subject: 5mm (1/8") and supports stereo plugs.

I'm not sure what software the Mac G4 shipped with
to help with the process of digitizing the input signal.
Perhaps a Mac user here can suggest a good choice.

For Mac models that lack the 3.5mm input, you'd
have to purchase an audio interface that attaches
by USB. One inexpensive model is the Griffith iMic
(about $40).

Most PCs have some sort of audio card that will have
an input for line level signals. The iMic works with PCs
as well.
