The levels of the M and the S signal you recover will not be the same= level as they originally were, unless a unity gain Encode suited your taste/needs, but the M will have no unwanted bits of S mixed in and the converse will be true for the S. that is-- when no adjustments to the stereo field are made. JL - Absolutely NOT Your original MS field recording can have its overall level and width adjusted as you wish during the MS -LR conversion. John L |
