I assume Dan is answering, "Exactly," only to my question about 
comparable levels, not to rule by thumb. :-) One place I remembering 
this 10mV/Pa figure was in a Mic FAQ  that Michael Cooper compiled 
for the DATHeads list from various sources. Of course, nature 
recordists often encounter lower sound levels than the concert tapers 
who accounted for a good percentage of subscribers on that list. Rob
