By "quieter pre option," I presume you mean the transformer-input
dynamic preamp (QPSE-200-X0Y0)? The noise spec is -126 dBm
A-weighted. Note that that is a power spec., not a voltage spec (dBm
is re 1 milliwatt). Old-fashioned practice. Off the cuff I'd say good
but probably a bit inferior to boutique preamps today.
