Sounds like the description of the critter we've
been recording all over the planet, John. But,
oddly, in some places, we also got what we think
are spadefoot toad tadpoles (Spea intermontanus)
also generating acoustic signatures...especially
above Mono Lake in the vernal pools that are the
result of spring snow thaws. Go figure.
