Stop! Mic preamps are always more noisy with nothing connected (no
input termination is the technical term), and evaluations that way
are meaningless. Either listen with a mic connected or with a dummy
input (150 Ohm resistor for balanced mics, 2000 Ohms for electret
capsule).
