That suggests to me that the list of suspects is narrowed down to the
unbalanced 2-xlr->stereo 3.5mm cable and the RH1/its settings. Can
you borrow another recorder like an MD and another adapter cable? If
the source of the noise is the RH1, TLM103 -> Art2 -> another
adapter cable -> mic input/MD should confirm it and if so, send it
to Sony Repair. Record the results to a sound file? It shouldn't be
noisy. Rob D.
