I've been watching MKH's for the last year and the only "deals" I've
seen are the occasional MKH60 for 8-900 and MKH40's. The 40's go for
cheaper (6-700). Maybe I haven't been watching closely enough, but it
seems like good prices for MKH's on ebay just doesn't really happen
much anymore.
I did pick up an MKH50 of of RAMPS from a private seller for $750.
The last 50 I saw on ebay went for around $1000. I don't know...
Looked for used mics at the location sound dealers.
That being said, just a couple days ago I saw a (barely) used pair of
20's on gearslutz for 1800 or best offer. One of the mic's
accessoriers was still wrapped in plastic.
I've bought from Soundpure before. You can by from them directly.
The guy I ordered from (bought from them twice) on the phone was very
nice and very helpful. They'll give you a price break if you order
more stuff. I got the feeling that Soundpure didn't really have any
stock on hand, but they were great to deal with, gave me some good
suggestions, and threw in a couple stereo bars for free. All in all,
not quite the service that a place like Trew Audio, Coffey Sound, or
Mercenary Audio will give you, but better than most and absolutely no
complaints.
