Hi Tim--
Stories are sure to vary. You pretty much have to
plan for an alternative if they don't work, don't
you? Even a cheap back-up pair is better than
having no working mics. The desiccant relies on
a closed bag. I've read of people drying out mics
after three days in bags changing the desiccant
every day. If your Schoeps go out, you could dry
them out and quickly slip each (completely)
inside of a condom with bag of desiccant-- not
without some loss of sound quality, but an
option. Rob D.
