Hi Jim--
It is satisfying to be able to finally listen to
what these recorders can do. I'd be happy to
include a R-1 if someone could ship me one for
testing with the other recorders Monday or
Tuesday night. I have to get the MT back to a
colleague by Wed. I'd also like to include an R-4
to see if it would be good enough for quiet
setting 4 ch surround work using external 2- mp2
pres, if the internal pres are an issue. Let me
know soon because I was planning to do the test
early monday morning as the city sleeps.
I may try inserting an MP2 with the new CF
recorders as a work-around for the low gain
issue. I've already found there's no significant
difference using an external pre->line vs.
Rolls->mic in with HiMD. Maybe I'm not alone in
having an under utilized Mp2 hanging around. Rob
D.
