Good question Steve, I think the "db" figures are misleading, impossible to=

understand and useless.

(Can anyone explain such figures? Fine, I be happy!)

Suppose you have a high output and noisy microphone: Then you will hear mic=

noise whatever you do.

Suppose you have a low output mic with very good noise values (Are there
such a one??) - Then, but only then, you will hear mic amp noise.

As most mic's are today, they have such a high output that what you hear is=

mic noise - well on top of the mic preamp noise.
