Another perhaps similar option is the Crown GLM-100. I've had a pair
for several years. Just for grins, I pulled them out of storage a
couple days ago to get reacquainted and was blown away. They're very
impressive compared to the arrays I've been favoring lately. A deep
rich low end and a smooth high end that is not "hyped." Very natural
sounding, very open, very "mature." How could I have overlooked them
all this time? I expected them to sound best next to a barrier, but it
seems they much prefer free space. My experiments show 26" as an
excellent separation, with capsules oriented forward. I sure am sorry I
didn't have those mics out on the ice last Sunday AM with Rich...
