the voltage drop is not too big an issue. as you put
in more elements, sensitivity of individual elements
seems to go down, along with their noise. the overall
sensitivity is higher, but not as high as it would be
if the elements just added. the largest number i tried
was with 16 elements, and these were extremely cheap
and noisy unbranded capsules. i was trying to build a
super directional microphone.
