Beautiful project, Rich! Would you write it up for the Nature Sounds Society newsletter? A circular or square array of mikes (like "sweet 16") will begin to exhibit high-frequency beaming, the crossover frequency to the directional effect depending on the dimensions of the array. A vertical line array (like Rich's) restricts beaming to the vertical direction and stays wide in the horizontal. -Dan Dugan ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
